About our area. We are in the Eurobodalla Shire on the South Coast of New South Wales, between Batemans Bay and Moruya on the coastal road. The south coast of NSW is incredibly beautiful and varied as the mountains are often close to the coast. It is a nature lovers paradise-beaches, lakes, rivers, forests. We have an airport with daily flights to Sydney. A racecourse - with monthly meetings. Both only 10 klms away. Good fishing. The ocean is 500m away, with many beautiful drives, walks and scenery. We are a four hour drive from Sydney, and two hours from Canberra. We have a supermarket,butcher,a bottle shop,a good cafe/takeaway, and Bowling club. Our home overlooks a beach to the front and forest to the back. There are no pets. Our large front living room features an open fireplace and five large windows letting in light and sea breezes. The kitchen and both bathrooms have been stylishly renovated. There are 4 bedrooms-one used as an office . ADSL is available. The climate is mild to warm August to May and even in the June/July the winter months there are no frosts and often calm sunny days 16-19C. Both Geraldine and I have had varied career paths-Agriculture for both of us, army, telecommunications,and building for me, teaching and business for Geraldine. We retired some years ago.
We are non smokers, love food and cooking,(and of course the odd glass of wine) read a lot, enjoy walking and staying fit. We enjoy exploring places and meeting people and like to go to fewer places for longer periods. Our curiosity about the world is undimmed!! Our car is a 1994 Toyota Camry (no cup holders!) in really good condition and if you prefer you can always hire a more modern car. Geraldine and I are currently looking for exchanges in 2011 and would consider any area, especially Canada,US,Europe,and UK.
Please, We normally prefer not to be be in Europe or the UK for winter as many of the coach day trips do not happen, days are too short, and many attractions are closed. Geraldine and I prefer to exchange during the shoulder seasons as we consider this the fairest system given the difference in seasons between the northern and southern hemisphere.
