We are a retired non smoking professional couple, whose children are grown up and are now no longer a demand on our wallets!. We are well traveled having visited Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia in the past, plus we are experienced in home exchange. We have made various exchange arrangements for 2006 and are open to enquiries for 2007 and beyond.

Our primary period for travel and home exchange would be from April to October during the year. If you are interested in skiing and want a break from the tropical heat, then we would also consider an exchange during the winter. We are very conscientious on ensuring that your home is well taken care of, as we know you will be with ours.

Our Home Description:

Our home is a very well maintained two story detached house, with 4 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, family room, double car garage and a finished basement equipped as an apartment. Our home is fully modern in terms of appliances and furniture, with a large deck facing south west off the family room. We are also prepared to discuss car exchange, as well as hospitality visits.

We have almost new bikes, all the local hiking maps and locations information and our car is in excellant condition.

We live in a very friendly and safe neighbourhood. We have a cleaning lady visit every two weeks plus will arrange for the garden maintenance whilst away.

The Area:

The city of Ottawa is both a destination to visit in its self and an ideal “hub” city for touring eastern Canada and the eastern United States. Our home is located close to the city, cycle paths, woods, a public sports-centre with easy access to major highways to other locations in eastern Canada and the United States.

Ottawa has much to offer in terms of natural beauty (I believe Ottawa is one of the most beautiful cities in North America - http://www.ottawatourism.ca/ and has all the facilities you may require, theatres, museums, restaurants, parks and lots of recreation areas, a very open city. Surrounding Ottawa are lakes, rivers, the Col. By canal, national parks, hiking/bicycle trails, camping grounds and mountains.

The US boarder and the St. Lawrence river is 60 miles - 100 km, Montreal 120 miles - 200 km, Toronto 260 miles - 400 km, with easy access to New York, and the New England States.
