Our home has four bedrooms and 3 ½ baths and is at the end of a cul-de-sac and against a golf course. It is a shady area in the summer and the winters are generally mild with occasional snow. We are a southern suburb of Washington, DC and 10 minutes (driving) from a Metro (subway) station and a 5 minute walk from a bus stop, both of which will access Washington. Although Washington, DC is interesting all year round, the best times of the year for seniors to avoid heavy tourist traffic is spring and fall. The area is rich in Civil War and Colonial history; close to Mt. Vernon and the battlefields of Manassas and Antietam. We are just outside the Washington, DC beltway which accesses Maryland and Virginia and close to I-95 which is a direct route to Richmond, VA.
