Hi, Linda and Ed Bayly here.We
are a retired couple in our
late sixties. I was a
performing arts centre manager
and my wife was a legal
secretary. Our house is in a
quiet cul de sac. We are both
non smokers.
We are interested in visiting
England in 2011 for a month or
so. Open for other offers.
We live in the nice, clean,
safe city of Lethbridge,
pop.82,000, two and a half
hours south of Calgary .
There is a university, a
college, four theatres, twenty
three movie screens, six
public swimming pools, plus
other sporting venues.
There is horse racing all
summer, and there are major
shopping malls, many
resturants and lounges, three
golf courses within the city
limits and six more just
twenty minutes away by car.
The Nika Yuka Japanese Garden
with lovely water features is
adjacent to Henderson Lake
where there is fishing and
boating.
The Oldman River runs through
the center of Lethbridge and
the areas on each side of the
river are designated a nature
reserve where deer, beaver,
muskrats, porcupines, pelicans
and all manner of animals and
birds are often seen.
The Helen Schuler Nature
Center along with Fort Whoop-
up, a reconstruction of the
fort used by the whisky
traders in the early days, is
also situated there.
Lethbridge is the ideal base
for a number of interesting
and unique places to visit.
South is the Montana, U.S.
border, south west is Waterton
Lakes National Park, right in
the heart of the Rockies with
bear, elk, deer, sheep and
other animals a common sight
and with lots to see and do.
To the west is Fort Mcleod,
home of the first Canadian
Mountie force in this area
then a little further west is
the Head Smashed In Buffalo
Jump,a UNESCO World Heritage
Site. The Blood and Peigan
Indian Tribes perform their
tribal ceremonies there on a
regular basis.
To the north is the town of
Drumheller, with the Royal
Tyrrell Museum, another World
Heritage Site, devoted to the
dinosaurs that roamed the
region millions of years ago.
To the north Calgary and Banff
and Edmonton the capital of
Alberta.
There are bountiful fishing
opportunities with stocked
ponds in and around town plus
mountain fishing and the Bow
River which is a blue ribbon
trout fishery. I am an avid
fly fisherman and can supply
more info. I also have a
pontoon boat and a belly boat
available for your use.
OUR HOUSE - We have a "four
level split" home. On the top
floor, the master bedroom with
king sized bed and an en-
suite, second bedroom with
queen bed, and the third
bedroom with a single bed.
There is a full bathroom on
the same floor with bath and
shower.
On the ground floor there is a
sitting room, dining room and
kitchen. The kitchen is fully
fitted with oven, freezer and
fridge, microwave and
dishwasher.
The lower level has a family
room with cable TV, video
player, VCR and DVD with a
large library of tapes. There
is also an office with high
speed internet available. A
small toilet is also located
on this level.
A washer and dryer, large
freezer and a shower and
sauna, plus exercise equipment
for your use is all locateed
in the lowest level.
At the rear of the house there
is a large two level deck with
patio furniture, a barbecue
and a four person hot tub.
We have two cars that could be
available for exchange. A new
Honda Accord and an older
Toyota Camry, both automatic
with a/c.
If you are interested or
require more information,
please e-mail us. We always
enjoy hearing from other
people in different parts of
the world. Thanks, Ed and
Linda.
