My quiet, peaceful lake house offers views of water, bird songs, and a blue heron who hunts for breakfast about 8:30 am. Good fishing off the pier. Swimming is at the private beach or jump in and swim to sand bar or walk around end of property and out to sand bar. Bedrooms
My home has three bedrooms, one on the main floor and two upstairs. One has a gas fireplace and skylights. Another has a shaded balcony high among the oaks (it's like being in a tree house). It has a window seat, a secret cupboard, bookcases, a table, and a rocking chair. It overlooks the lake. These large, upstairs bedrooms have queen beds and share a bath. The main floor bedroom connects to the main floor bath. It has antique furniture, a standard-sized bed and is of modest size.
Best Room
I think the large screened porch is the best room in the house. It overlooks the lake, flower gardens, and the woodsy path that leads from the front yard. Sunrise, midnight, and evening can all be enjoyed. A blue heron makes regular morning stops during the summer and fishes for his breakfast. You, too, can fish for pan fish. One of the deepest holes in the lake lies just off the pier.
Other rooms
A lake room, a fireplace room with losts of built-in bookcases, a kitchen, and eating area complete the main floor. The finished lower level offers lake views. The washing machine and dryer are in the unfinished part of this level. An office with ample work space can be found on the uppermost level.
This home is in a private subdivision. A car exchange can be arranged. The small town of Burlington offers restaurants and shops. Lake Geneva, about 11 miles away, offers much more and is well-known. You will be 30-35 miles from Milwaukee and 50-75 miles north of Chicago. Metra trains can take you to Chicago from Kenosha or Fox Lake. You are 1 hour and 15 minutes from O'Hare airport.
