We live about a 30 min. walk from the Falls and beautiful Queen Victoria Park. As well, we are less than a 5 minute drive from the Queen Elizabeth Way which is the major highway into and out of Niagara Falls.

The area around the Falls is quite beautiful in all the seasons and offers much to see and do. There are the Maid of the Mist, the Journey behind the Falls, the greenhouse, the Great Gorge Walk(featured in some scenes in the first Superman movie), and Friday night fireworks in the summer months. There are also band concerts in the park in the summer season.

Just down the Niagara Parkway,named by Winston Churchill as "the prettiest Sunday afternoon drive in the world", is the Niagara Parks Commission School of Horticulture with its many beautiful flower gardens and a butterfly conservatory. There is also a working floral clock. A fascinating tour of the Hydro plant is offered at specific times.

At the end of the Parkway you are in the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, home to the Shaw Festival. This is not to be missed if you enjoy live theatre. It is also a lovely place to just stroll around.

At the other end of the Parkway lies Fort Erie with its live horse racing and the old Fort which saw action in the War of 1812-14. Just across from Fort Erie and accessible via the Peace Bridge is Buffalo, New York. There is some great shopping at the Walden Galleria Mall. Also close to our home is the Rainbow Bridge to New York State

And an hour's drive down the QEW highway takes you to Toronto with all it has to offer.

Gary and I have exchanged before and greatly enjoyed the experiences. We look forward to doing it again. We would like to visit Britain for 2-3weeks this Sept. (2010).

We would also like to exchange with someone in Ireland next year.
