Our home is a large and comfortable Mediterranean-style structure, with views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the campanile on the University of California campus. Located in North Berkeley in easy walking distance to the gourmet ghetto and university campus, it is about a 20 minute walk to the BART system which serves San Francisco and the Bay area. In addition to a living room with fireplace and formal dining room, both with wood floors and built-ins cupboards, the house has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a lovely sun room with French doors to a large and sunny patio. The kitchen has been updated, and is amply supplied with appliances and gadgets. Our large terraced garden and patio have views of the surrounding areas and can be used most of the year.Berkeley prides itself on its "small town" feeling - it has an abundance of bookshops and coffee houses, people stroll or ride bikes through town, and there are 3 farmers' markets each week. In addition, it is home to many outstanding restaurants and a world famous university. Public transportation (the BART) makes it easy to get to San Francisco and all of the attractions of the bay area. It also has three Senior Centers which serve as social hubs. Our neighborhood is residential; the Berkeley rose garden with a playground and tennis courts is a short walk away.
