  WASAGA BEACH, Ontario, Canada

About Our Home

Jeanette & Peter Gribbin would like to invite you to a beautiful part of Canada. Wasaga Beach boasts the longest fresh-water beach in the world. Our home is situated across the lane from the beautiful sandy beach in a quiet neighbourhood of private homes and cottages. Our 2 storey home is over 2,600 square feet in size. It was built in 2002 and has four good-sized bedrooms and three full bathrooms - one being an ensuite to the master bedroom. Main floor consists of 2 bedrooms, bathroom, dining room, gourmet kitchen, pantry, and large living room with gas fireplace. Upper floor has 2 bedrooms, ensuite bathroom and separate bathroom, and a conversation/reading room with beautiful views of the lake. The lower level (basement) is our entertainment room (TV, stereo, DVD and record player, etc.) and laundry room.

About Us

Jeanette & Peter are recently retired and ready to see the world. We bought our home new in 2002 because of its lovely location and with retirement in mind for the future. We now live here permanently. We immigrated to Canada from Liverpool, England in 1975 and have two adult daughters who both have their own accommodations near the capital city of Ottawa. On occasion they may want to join us on our vacations if they can work it into their busy schedules. We are non-smokers and would like to make sure our home remains smoke-free.

About the Area

Wasaga Beach is the most popular beach area in Ontario, Canada. Population is only 16,000 but it attracts many tourists to the 14 kilometers of soft, sandy beaches. It has received the prestigious “Blue Flag” designation for its cleanliness, water quality and overall facilities. It boasts many restaurants, either in Wasaga Beach itself, or nearby Collingwood, the premier ski resort in Ontario and also a year-round tourist attraction. Hiking and walking trails abound, and you can also simply walk the beach for miles in either direction. Situated north of Toronto, it’s about a 1.5 hour drive from the Toronto downtown and an easy 1.25 hour drive from Toronto Pearson International Airport.

Transportation

A rental car is highly recommended in order to take advantage of the Ontario attractions. Our car (2007 Acura MDX SUV) may be made available in exchange.

What We’re Looking For

For 2011 we are looking to spend time in Europe including Italy, Austria, Spain, or any other European country would be considered. Beyond 2011 we’re looking to explore and enjoy locations anywhere in the world during the milder climate seasons.
