I am Heather, a single semi retired professional - teacher, psychologist and manager - who now has time to travel more. I live in a modern 3 bedroom apartment with glorious views over the Darwin harbour. The balcony is a wonderful spot for a gin and tonic as the sun goes down or a cup of coffee as the sun comes up.
The CBD is 3 kilometres, a suburban shop is a few minutes by foot and weekend markets are 10 minutes walk. The bus stop is one block away and it will get you most places, but a car is handy for longer trips to see the wonderful ancient history which surrounds us - Aboriginal artworks, magnificent waterfalls and water holes.
Darwin has a hot-wet climate from about October to April and hot-dry climate for the rest of the year - perfect for relaxing.
I am especially interested in visiting Europe in 2011. The exchange need not be simultaneous.
