This is a remodeled farmhouse with 3 bedrooms/1 bath (see picture). It is located in the Appalachian Mountains. We are 10 miles from the entrance of the BlueRidge Parkway. This is a very Scenic Viewing Area with a lot of Biking/Hiking areas around--great for the traveler/adventurer. Three miles away is a Public library with internet access and a medical clinic. The home has Satelite TV & VHS (well stocked with VCR Tapes and old LP Records for your enjoyment). It also has a "wrap-around porch" overlooking the nearby Toe River and the Railroad Tracks. The river is great for tubing and one can float down along the scenic Pisgah National Forest. It has a new kitchen with 2 master bedrooms (each with an AC/HEAT unit) and a sleeper couch. it can easily accommodate 6 people.

AS FAR AS EXCHANGES: Since we have another home, my wife and I are agreeable to Non-Simultaneous Exchanges i.e. not at the same time exchanges. Also we do not require exact same amount of days when we exchange with someone. We are open to any possibilities-- The Home is available year round but nicest in the Spring/Summer/Fall. This is our Mountain Home so please no pets or smoking inside the Cottage.

I am a retired Federal Officer and my wife is a retired RN Nurse. Both of us are non-smokers and have no pets. We have enjoyed several home exchanges in USA, England, Germany, Belgium and Australia, and find it a most amazing way to explore a country and meet its people

We are flexible as to which countries we would like to visit but would be most interested in further explorations in Europe and South America, but are open to locations anywhere in the USA and/or the World. We hope to continue our "home exchange experiences" in the years to come. We both love to travel and see new things and places. We are experienced exchangers and flexible on exchange locations.

The Actual Location of the home is: halfway between Bakersville and Red Hill at 3665 N 226 Hwy. One would drive to "Loafers Glory Camping Grounds" gate, advised them of your arrival, and go down the hill to the home. For your first time arrival, we recommend that you get there during daylight hours because security is enforced. Available at, "Loafers Glory Camping Grounds" are tubing, gem minning, rough water rafting, etc)... see website: www.loafersglorycamping.com

To see MAP on how to get to our home, go to the website: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/loafer s+glory+nc ...then put in above address.

I have a ground-keeper, Rick Brady, (cell 828-385-0945) who would meet you at the home and give you the keys. Rick asked that you check in by 6:00 P.M. He could familiarize you to the area and be available to deal with any needs that you might have...

Finally if you have a problem you can email me at [email protected] or Call me at 936-890-0201 and leave a message with a return phone # and I will get back to you ASAP.......... Ron C.
