We are a retired couple wanting to spend the summer of 2011 in the Mediterranean area. Our home has 2 master suites and a loft bedroom that could sleep 3 for a total of 7 comfortably. Our decks provide over 2000 sq/ft of wonderful mountain views including Pikes Peak and overlooking Woodland Park far below. A gas grill is available for your outside grilling pleasure. The primary master suite has a 2 person shower with steam and bench as well as a jetted tub. We have swapped homes only once so far but hope to do a lot more in the future as it was a wonderful experience! We are looking forward to our next home exchange and can't wait to hear from you! Our home is situated on 40 acres of mountain forest. It is 5 miles from Woodland Park, Colorado and in the center of the Pikes Peak Region of Colorado where there are many attractions within a short drive. Drive up Pikes Peak Hwy to 14,000 ft or take the Cog Railroad. Visit Garden of the Gods, Cave of the Winds, The Cliff Dwellings, Manitou Springs, Old Colorado City, The Air Force Academy, Mueller State Park, the Royal Gorge and the Royal Gorge Railroad, the Cripple Creek casinos, Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park where Trail Ridge Road begins. Hike the many mountain trails, fish world class streams and rivers and take a white water rafting excursion.
View the multitude of wildlife. We have deer, elk, bear, mountain lion, wild turkeys, porcupine, fox, coyote and a variety of bird life.
Within a day's drive are the Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park.and Moab, Utah, As well, Santa Fe, Mesa Verde National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Sand Dunes National Monument all within a day's drive .
Just a little further are the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park and Jackson Hole,and Mount Rushmore. You'll never run out of interesting places to see!
Our home is very comfortably appointed, newly updated with woodburning fireplace and 52 inch high-def TV as well as wifi desktop computer to keep you connected. |
