We are Kath, a semi-retired social
worker, & David, a retired teacher who
now builds fences and other things.
We live in a beautiful part of the
Mt Lofty Ranges - Stirling - which is
readily accessible to the city of
Adelaide via a freeway and public
transport.
Our house is old, large and recently
renovated to make it more comfortable
for us and/or visitors with ensuite
bathroom and reverse cycle AC as well
as wood-fired heating. A 2005
automatic Suburu Forester would be
available for your stay.
We have a large and pleasant garden,
productive and interesting.
Things to do: A comfortable walk to
the village for food & other provisions
shopping, cafes, galleries, bookshops.
Local walks link with the Heysen and
Yurebilla walking trails.
Tennis courts are a short walk away
and golf course a short drive.
Mt Lofty Ranges are currently a centre
for sustainable agriculture, including
home gardening projects. Local
authors Lolo Houbein - "One Magic
Square: Grow your own food on one
square metre & "Outside the Magic
Square A Handbook for Food Security"
& Tim Marshall's "The New Organic
Gardener" reflect this activity in our
local community and beyond.
Our daughter, son-in-law and 2
grand-daughters are currently in
Wellington, NZ on 2 year contract and
we would like a location in, or nearby
to stay while visiting them mid-2012
(from July for 2-3 weeks).
We are new to Seniors Exchange but
like the idea of swapping locations
with others all over the world as a way
of continuing to travel overseas and
within Australia.
